ALHAMBRA
The Alhambra is an Islamic palatine city built mostly between the 13th and 15th century by the sultans of the Nasrid kingdom and used after its conquest by the Spanish court until its abandonment in the 18th century.
It is an overwhelming urban space of enormous complexity, with palatine architecture, water channels, orchards and houses where the different historical layers are combined. The Alhambra is the summit of Islamic architecture and art in Andalucia.
GRANADA
Granada started as an Iberian settlement on top of the Albaicín hill, that grew through time. It became specially relevant during the islamic period after the establishment of the Zirid capital in the 11th century and later under the Nasrid rule in the 13th century.
It is a city where each neighborhood has its own personality and where you can see Islamic dwellings juxtaposed to others of the Castilian era or contemporary buildings. This configures a unique urban and cultural net that turns this city into the jewel of eastern Andalusia.
SEVILLA
The capital of the Guadalquivir riverside, was born as a settlement in the middle of marshes, becoming a huge city in the roman period. All through its history Sevilla has been one of the most important locations in western Europe and today it continues being a cosmopolitan and modern city.
It is the ideal place to appreciate historical buildings such as the Reales Alcázares or the cathedral, coexisting with the most contemporary spaces in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. In addition, Sevilla has a culture and gastronomy that will delight all those who want to trully know the Andalusian way of living.
MÁLAGA
Malaga is one of the oldest cities in the Mediterranean shores. For this reason its configuration has received influences of all kinds, from Greeks to Merinids, from Nasrids to Castilians. However, its age its not a problem as today it is one of the most modern cities for doing an architecture private tour in Andalucia.
It is a cosmopolitan place filled with museums where Islamic, Greek and Roman tradition mix with contemporary ways of life and an impressive gastronomy.
GUADIX
One of the less known cities in the province of Granada and yet one of the most historically significant in southern Spain. This city was conceived as one of the most important centers in the southwest of Roman Hispania and takes on special relevance as a Nasrid city.
Apart from historical buildings and very important archaeological remains, this city has a troglodyte neighborhood. In here, houses are built in the karsts, a geological formation unique in Spain.

Walkitect is a project that started through a process of knowledge and experience in two main fields:
architecture and tourism.
Conceived by Manu Barba, this project began to take shape by the end of 2019 due to the demand of visitors of a different way of visiting the city. Visitors wanted a new way of tourism that provided a specialized point of view of the city that is visited.
The coronavirus crisis was the opportunity that gave shape to the Walkitect team and project, which is currently made up of architects specialized in heritage with a double master degree. Our guides also practice their profession localy in the most important cities of Andalusia.
Our philosophy leads us to create routes that are aware of the urban environment and that follow the quality standards of sustainable tourism.
At Walkitect we only do private and personalized routes just for you and the people you choose, avoiding crowds and massive groups. In these routes you also choose the time you want to invest in the guided tour, building your ideal route.
In addition to tourism projects, we work on many things. We keep on writting in the Walkitect Blog. We also work into architectural advisory, visualization through virtual reality or 3D prototyping. So if you are interested in rehabilitation, design and construction works, contact us!
